Issue Encountered:
Can a dual processor motherboard be populated with two different Intel® Xeon® Processors, model or versions?
Resolution:
Intel does not support or validate configurations where a board is populated with two different Intel® Xeon® processors models or versions.
Mixing components operating at different internal clock frequencies, different power segments, or different internal cache sizes is not supported and will not be validated by Intel. Combining processors from different power segments is also not supported.
Note | All processors in a multi-socket server must operate with the same Intel UPI frequency, core frequency, power segment, and have the same internal cache sizes. |
