Operating System

Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology II [Intel® ESRT2]

Description

The Intel® RAID Web Console 2 Utility (RWC2) had reported one drive as defective; however, it does not list it; the other drive is there, reported by the tool, though.

Degraded RAID 1 volume with the defective drive LED blinking green and amber.

Data is confirmed as backed up and secure.

The drives are in a hot-swappable backplane.

The Operating System does boot up, but very slowly.

Resolution

If the hard drive Light-emitting diode (LED) blinks green and amber, remove that failed drive, even if the RWC2 does not list it, and replace it with another like one.  As soon as this takes place, the rebuilding should begin, and eventually complete, action of which will make the Redundant array of independent disks (RAID) array optimal, again.

For more details on RAID scenarios/troubleshooting, refer to the RAID software user guide.
