How to Use Screen Rotation

The rotation feature allows the user to rotate a monitor or display's entire image to one of four orientations when enabled. Use a method below to change your screen's orientation.

Windows Display Settings

  1. Right-click the Desktop and select Display settings.
  2. Under Display orientation, select one of the following orientations:
    • Portrait
    • Landscape 
    • Portrait (flipped)
    • Landscape (flipped)
  3. Select Keep Changes

Intel Graphics Command Center

  1. Open the Intel Graphics Command Center
    • From the Windows Start Menu, search for Intel Graphics Command Center. Double click the Intel® Graphics Command Center icon to open the application.
    • If the Intel Graphics Command Center is not installed, see how to install it.
  2. Under Rotation,  select one of the following orientations:
    • Portrait
    • Landscape 
    • Portrait (flipped)
    • Landscape (flipped)
  3. Select Keep to keep the changes.

OR

  1. Navigate to the System tab
  2. Under HotKeys, enable System HotKeys if it is not already enabled.
  3. Use one of the following hot keys to rotate the screen as follows:
    • 0 degrees (Portrait): Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow
    • 90 degrees (Landscape): Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow
    • 180 degrees (Portrait (flipped)): Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow
    • 270 degrees (Landscape (flipped)): Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow

Intel Graphics Control Panel

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + F12 to open the Intel® Graphics Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to the Display Settings tab.
  3. Check the box for Enable Rotation.
  4. Select the appropriate Radio button for the desired level of rotation.
  5. Select Apply > OK.

OR

  1. Use one of the following hot keys to rotate the screen as follows:
    • 0 degrees (Portrait): Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow
    • 90 degrees (Landscape): Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow
    • 180 degrees (Portrait (flipped)): Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow
    • 270 degrees (Landscape (flipped)): Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow
Note The rotation feature may not be available if your computer manufacturer has disabled this feature.
