Skitter Creek Bath Salts
Announcement ID:
2026-09-09-001
Issue:
Intel is aware of the publicly disclosed skitter-creek-bath-salts research, which describes a technique that relies on modifying memory controller configuration to create unintended memory aliases and potentially affect memory isolation.
Intel is not aware of any Intel products affected by the technique described in this research.
Intel platforms include protections designed to prevent unauthorized modification of the memory controller configuration required by the demonstrated attack. Relevant settings are established during platform initialization, locked, and protected by platform security controls and validation checks.
Based on Intel's current analysis, Intel does not consider this research to represent a vulnerability in Intel products and is not aware of evidence demonstrating that the reported technique can bypass these protections on Intel platforms.
