Summary:
A potential security vulnerability for some Intel® Converged Security and Management Engine (Intel® CSME) and Intel® Server Platform Services (Intel® SPS) may allow escalation of privilege. Intel is releasing firmware updates to mitigate this potential vulnerability.
Vulnerability Details:
CVEID: CVE-2026-6726(Non-Intel issued)
Description: Incorrect type conversion or cast for some Intel® CSME and Intel® SPS within firmware may allow an escalation of privilege. System software adversary with a privileged user combined with a low complexity attack may enable data manipulation. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (none), integrity (high) and availability (none) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (high) and availability (none) impacts.
