In the Intel® SSD Pro 1500 Series (the Opal-ready SKU), a potential vulnerability exists in a version of the firmware when Opal is activated.
In the Intel® SSD Pro 1500 Series (the Opal-ready SKU), a potential vulnerability exists in a version of the firmware when Opal is activated. Due to a firmware implementation issue, under certain conditions, a potential vulnerability may cause user data to become accessible without requiring the user to supply a valid drive unlock password when Opal is activated. A firmware update to help mitigate the risk of the potential vulnerability has been developed and is available for download through OEM support sites listed below.
