Overview
This page provides the latest tuning files that help you get the best performance on particular hardware.
Usage scenarios
There are two ways to use the configuration files:
- Replace the tuning file in
$I_MPI_ROOT/intel64/etc/
(for example,.dat tuning_skx_shm-ofi.dat
). Do not rename tuning files before copying them to the$I_MPI_ROOT/intel64/etc/
directory; the file names are predefined by the Intel® MPI Library.
Note: This action may require super privileges if Intel MPI Library is installed in a shared folder. - Substitute tuning settings using the
I_MPI_TUNING_BIN
environment variable:
export I_MPI_TUNING_BIN=
/ .dat
where
is a path to the file on a shared file system (for example,tuning_skx_shm-ofi.dat
). Please note that any file name can be used.

Intel® MPI Library 2019 Update 4
File name | tuning_skx_shm-ofi.dat |
File Size | 126 Kb |
Date of publication | 06/06/2019 |
Target H/W configuration | Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor, Cornelis Networks |
Notes | General tuning. Should be applied to cluster systems based on the Intel® Xeon Scalable Processor and Cornelis Networks interconnect. |
File name | tuning_skx_shm-ofi.dat |
File Size | 492 Kb |
Date of publication | 06/11/2019 |
Target H/W configuration | Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor, Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA). |
Notes | Tuning for AWS Cloud EC2 instances with EFA. EFA is a network interface for Amazon EC2 instances that enables you to run High Performance Computing (HPC) applications that require a high level of inter-instance communications, for example, computational fluid dynamics, weather modeling, and reservoir simulation, at scale on AWS. |
