This article pertains to Intel® Parallel Studio XE and Intel® System Studio.

Intel's goal is to provide you the best possible developer tools—today and tomorrow. So that we can keep improving our software to better serve you, we collect two kinds of information.  When you install Intel Parallel Studio XE or Intel System Studio, we collect information that helps us understand your installation status. During installation, you also have the option of participating in the Intel Software Improvement Program (link here - /content/www/us/en/develop/articles/software-improvement-program.html). If you choose to participate in the Intel Software Improvement Program, upon using and running Intel Parallel Studio XE or Intel System Studio, we collect information that helps us understand your installation status as well as how you use and interact with our software. You can change your choice of participating in the Intel Software Improvement Program at any time in the Intel Software Manager’s privacy settings.

Information collected is not shared outside of Intel. Intel does not collect:

  • Business or directly identifying personal information
  • Information about non-Intel software 

During installation we collect the following information:

  • Intel software product and licensing information: Product name/version (3 character code), license type, support type, and install status

If you choose to participate in Intel Software Improvement Program, we collect the following information when you install, use and run Intel Parallel Studio XE or Intel System Studio:

  • System information: Operating System and version, IDE, locale, date and time, architecture, processor, and MAC address (truncated to 2 bytes)
  • List of any other installed Intel software development products
  • Product serial number and usage data.
