At the Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact awards, held on September 14th, Intel Ireland won the most prestigious award of the evening – the Outstanding Achievement in Sustainable Business Impact award. The Outstanding Achievement award is selected by a panel of judges following an extensive selection process and recognises a company’s commitment to sustainability in their values and a consistent level of excellence across all aspects of sustainability.

On the evening, Intel also picked up the Excellence in Environment award in the multinational category for the implementation of an innovative nanofiltration system. The new filtration system at Intel’s Leixlip campus will help save 484 million litres of water every year. The system does this by capturing water that is lost during water filtration redirects it for use in other parts of manufacturing operations. The nanofiltration system is the most significant water conservation project to ever be implemented at the Intel’s campus and came into operation in Summer 2022.

Intel was also shortlisted for the Communications award in the multinational category for shaping stakeholder engagement through strategic communications.

The awards, now in their 20th year, are a unique competition which invites applications from the vast array of companies operating across Ireland today, from SMEs to MNCs. The awards are the prime showcase of the depth of corporate Ireland’s sustainable impact in their initiatives.

The Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact Awards are sponsored by BAM Ireland and run in association with the Department of Rural and Community Development who support the Social Enterprise category. One4all are the longstanding supporter of the Workplace category at the event and ESB are the new sponsors of the Communications category.
