At the Intel Developer Forum on Tuesday Intel Corporation executive Dadi Perlmutter shared updates on "Sandy Bridge," codename for next-generation Intel® Core™ processors using the Intel microarchitecture. During her Day 1 keynote at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing on Tuesday, Renee James, senior vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group at Intel, highlighted Intel's vision for a seamless cross-device experience for phones, cars and the home, providing consumers with more consistency and accessibility to their information. James emphasized how a unified operating environment running across a common compute architecture can give developers broader reach and easier access to end users, in any market segment.

Key topics during Doug Davis' keynote Wednesday at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing included disclosures on a future Intel product codenamed "Tunnel Creek." This system-on-chip for embedded applications such as in-vehicle-infotainment and IP media phones will use a standard interconnect to the processor. The highly integrated SoC combines an Intel® Atom™ processor core, the memory controller hub, graphics engine and video engine into one chip. Davis is corporate vice president and general manager of Intel's Embedded and Communications Group.
