Intel Appoints First Senior Fellows

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 9, 2002 -- Intel Corporation today announced the appointment of four individuals to the newly created position of Intel Senior Fellow. The new Intel Senior Fellows, selected for their continued innovation and outstanding contributions to both the company and the industry, are Mark Bohr, Peter MacWilliams, Justin Rattner and Richard Wirt.

"Intel Senior Fellows represent the company's most exceptional technical professionals," said Craig Barrett, Intel chief executive officer. "Their contributions have helped Intel maintain a position at the forefront of technical innovation and to continuously deliver cutting edge technologies to the marketplace."

The Intel Fellow program began in 1980 and currently consists of 46 technical professionals. Of this highly accomplished and distinguished group, Intel is now recognizing the most senior and influential members by creating the new role of Senior Fellow.

Mark Bohr, 49, is director of Process Architecture and Integration, Technology and Manufacturing Group. He is responsible for directing work on the development of Intel's next generation microprocessor technology. Bohr joined Intel in 1978.

Peter MacWilliams, 46, is director of Platform Architecture, Desktop Platforms Group. He is responsible for future platform directions including coordinating platform architectures and technologies both internally and with the industry. MacWilliams joined Intel in 1979.

Justin Rattner, 54, is director of Microprocessor Research, Enterprise Platforms Group. He is responsible for advanced circuit, microarchitecture, architecture, and programming systems research, as well as the prototyping and analysis of future computer applications and workloads. Rattner joined Intel in 1973.

Richard Wirt, 59, is general manager of the Intel Software and Solutions Group, Enterprise Platforms Group. He is responsible for enabling Intel Architecture products through industry software and solutions enabling. Wirt joined Intel in 1981.
