New Process Technology Speeds Up Intel's Value PC Processor

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 2, 2001 -- Intel Corporation today released the Intel® Celeron® processor at 1.20 GHz. The desktop processor, based on 0.13-micron process technology, represents Intel's fastest offering for the price sensitive desktop value PC market segment.

The new Intel Celeron processor includes additional design features, such as 256 KB of on-chip, level-two cache with a high-bandwidth interface to the processor core.

In 1,000-unit quantities, the desktop Intel Celeron processor at 1.20 GHz is priced at $103. Desktop Intel Celeron processors are now available at 1.20, 1.10 and 1 GHz, and 950, 900, 850 and 800 MHz (all with the 100 MHz system bus).
