iXL and Intel Create e-Business Solution Package For Retailers And Consumer Goods Manufacturers

ATLANTA, July 18, 2001/PRNewswire/ -- iXL (Nasdaq: IIXL) and Intel® Corporation today announced the Retail & Consumer Goods Solution Platform, an integrated e-Business package that provides retailers and manufacturers with a single, secure Web interface to manage marketing and customer information, supply chain functions, merchandising, in-store execution, product ordering capabilities and online assistance.

The solution package combines best-of-breed retail management technologies including hardware, software and applications from several companies into one solution, which helps retailers quickly deploy new, high-performance and reliable technology at lower costs.

The package is the result of collaborative work within the joint iXL® - Intel Solution Center located at iXL's Atlanta headquarters. The state-of-the-art facility offers engineering expertise and equipment to develop, test and deploy strategic e-Business solutions built on Intel technology. The performance of the entire package was tuned and optimized to run efficiently on Intel-based systems. iXL will lead the implementation of the solution package at customer sites with support and co-marketing assistance from Intel and the other companies involved in the package. Costs of implementation will vary depending upon customer needs.

The Web-based system also supports in-store execution functions such as merchandising, account management, product and service ordering and data collection through wireless devices. Using these devices, in-store data can be synched in real-time to the Web solution to ensure accurate data on Web and client side platforms.
