Gateway, Intel and Microsoft Provide Educational Opportunities and Technology Solutions to Local Businesses

40-City "Solutions Tour" Brings Industry Leaders Face-to-Face With Small Businesses, Government Agencies and Schools in Their Own Communities

San Diego, Calif.,-- May 23, 2000 -- Gateway, Inc. (NYSE:GTW), Intel Corporation and Microsoft Corp. today announced a nationwide "Solutions Tour" and joint sponsorship of 40 Information Technology Exposition and Conference (ITEC) shows, the country's largest regional technology event. As part of their efforts to help small businesses, government agencies and schools use technology to accomplish their goals, the companies will present seminars on topics such as mobility, Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional, Office XP, Small Business Server 2000 and how to use the Internet to grow a business.

Drawing many of the world's top technology companies to cities throughout the United States, ITEC shows provide an ideal setting for interactive demonstrations on the latest information technology (IT) advances, informational seminars and executive keynotes. Following each show, representatives from Gateway, Intel and Microsoft will present a series of five free seminars at nearby Gateway Country stores on the following topics:

  • Technology Requirements for Your Growing Business - Utilizing Windows 2000 Professional and Pentium® 4 processor as competitive tools to cut costs and increase productivity.
  • Microsoft Office XP* Preview - Highlights how Office XP, the most significant upgrade in the Office suite's history, boosts productivity, encourages teamwork and collaboration, and extends business to the Internet.
  • Maximizing Business Productivity Through Mobile Technology - Teaches how mobile computing and wireless technology can benefit a growing organization.
  • Connecting Your Business - How to boost efficiency and flexibility by connecting business PCs over a network.
  • Putting the Internet to Work for Your Business - How to move a business online, build a Web site, and encourage customers to buy electronically.
