Intel And Advanced Micro Devices Renew Patent Cross-License Agreement
SANTA CLARA/ SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 4, 2001 -- Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Intel Corporation today announced the renewal of a long-standing patent cross-license agreement between the companies. Specific terms of the 10-year agreement are confidential. The companies have signed four patent cross-license agreements since 1976.
AMD is a global supplier of integrated circuits for the personal and networked computer and communications markets, with manufacturing facilities in the United States, Europe, Japan and Asia. AMD produces microprocessors, flash memory devices and support circuitry for communications and networking applications. Founded in 1969 and based in Sunnyvale, Calif., AMD had revenues of $4.6 billion in 2000.
