Intel Honors 25 Companies With Its Preferred Quality Supplier Award
SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 26, 2001 -- Intel Corporation today announced the 25 winners of its Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding commitment to quality and performance.
The 25 winners, up from 16 last year, will be honored for their excellence in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel's success in 2000. The award ceremony will be held tomorrow at the Hyatt Hotel in Burlingame, Calif.
Award-winning suppliers include: Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc.; Analog Devices, Inc.; Ashland Electronic Chemicals Division; ChipPAC, Inc.; Delta Design, Inc. (a Cohu Co.); Dexter Electronic Materials (a division of Loctite Corp.); Enplas Corp.; Enthone; General Electric Industrial Systems; Hitachi Semiconductor Equipment and Instruments Groups; Kelly Services, Corp.; Kemet Corp.; Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board Corp.; NEC Corp.; NTK Technical Ceramics (a division of NGK Spark Plug Co., Ltd.); PRIDE Industries; Pulse, A Technitrol Co.; Rockwell Automation (a business of Rockwell International Corp.); Sanyo Denki Company, Ltd.; Senju Metal Industry Co., Ltd.; Sharp Corp.; Unico Technology Berhad; United Van Lines, LLC; Viasystems Group, Inc.; and Wacker Siltronic Corp.

The PQS awards are part of Intel's Preferred Quality Suppliers Improvement process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score highly on a quality systems assessment and a supplier report card, as well as meet challenging performance expectations against a rigorous improvement plan.
Intel will also recognize award winners with an advertisement in the Wall Street Journal and the Asian Wall Street Journal on March 29.
