New Intel PC Camera Product Includes Easy-To-Use Video Phone Software

Intel® Easy PC Camera Available at $49 MSRP

PC EXPO, NEW YORK, June 27, 2000 - Intel Corporation today introduced the Intel® Easy PC Camera, a consumer communications package that features easy-to-use video phone software that lets users make video phone calls over dial-up and broadband Internet connections.

Available nationwide at most retail computer stores and online retailers, the Intel Easy PC Camera Pack is priced at $49 MSRP.

"PC cameras continue to grow in popularity as more consumers look for new ways to use their PCs and the Internet," said Don Whiteside, general manager of the Intel Connected Products Division. "By adding the Intel Easy PC Camera to our product line and pricing it at $49, Intel offers customers more PC camera choices."

In addition to video phone software, the Intel Easy PC Camera includes Intel® Email postcard that lets users personalize e-mail with video snapshots and audio, Intel® Scene Recorder to capture video clips, snapshots and audio, Intel® Gallery to organize and store video clips, snapshots and audio, Intel® Snapshot to capture still images and Intel® Audio Recorder to capture audio files. The camera package also features PC Camera games, developed by Realty Fusion*, that show the user on the computer screen interacting with virtual objects.

The Intel Easy PC Camera comes in an easy-to-install plug-and-play Universal Serial Bus (USB) version. Minimum system requirements include desktop or notebook PC with an Intel® Pentium® processor with MMX™ technology at 166 MHz or greater, Windows* 98 or Windows 95 OR2* and 32 MG (megabytes) of RAM.

For consumers that have more advanced communications requirements, Intel offers the Intel® PC Camera Pack priced at $79 and the Intel® PC Camera Pro Pack, which includes a PC Camera with a built-in video capture plug to bring live or recorded video directly into PCs from a camcorder or VCR. The Intel PC Camera Pro Pack is priced at $129, or $99 after a $30 manufacturer's rebate.
