SAGEport To Deliver Intel® Dot.Station Web Appliance As Part Of Internet Bundle For Seniors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. and BELLEVUE, Wash. Aug. 14, 2000 -- Intel Corporation and SAGEport™ Inc., a provider of integrated Internet services for seniors, today announced that SAGEport would deliver the Intel® Dot.Station web appliance* to consumers later this year as part of its new Internet service bundle targeted for seniors.

The all-in-one bundle, known as SAGEvision™, includes an Intel Dot.Station web appliance, an ISP service that will provide quick access to the Internet and SAGEport.com, a senior-friendly community and marketplace on the Internet. SAGEvision also includes an ergonomically designed keyboard and integrated trackball created specifically for seniors.

"The Intel Dot.Station web appliance is a perfect match for the SAGEvision service bundle and we are happy to have SAGEport as one of our first U.S. customers," said Claude Leglise, vice president, Intel Architecture Group, and general manager of the Home Products Group. "SAGEport's focus on seniors makes the easy-to-use Intel Dot.Station web appliance a natural choice."

Of the 59 million seniors in this country, 47 million are not online. SAGEvision aims to remove the barriers standing between millions of seniors and the Internet****.

"SAGEvision provides seniors with everything they need to fully experience the Internet, but we also keep it simple," says SAGEport CEO, Brian Deutsch. "Our goal is to make seniors as comfortable using the Internet as they are using the telephone."

The SAGEvision bundle features a senior-friendly browser and user interface that makes navigating the Internet easy and enjoyable. That experience is further enhanced with a visit to SAGEport.com, an online community and marketplace for seniors offering easy-to-use e-mail, chat and quick access to the full resources and capabilities of the Web. The uncluttered, intuitive design welcomes visitors with large fonts, colors, graphics and straightforward navigation.

Intel designed the Intel Dot.Station web appliance as an easy-to-use and cost effective Internet access device targeted at those who are not online today, but have a desire to get on the Internet. The Intel Dot.Station web appliance, a centerpiece of the SAGEvision bundle, incorporates a large, high resolution 14-inch monitor, supports the latest Internet technologies, and can be remotely updated using the Intel System Management Suite.

The SAGEvision Internet appliance and service bundle will be available from SAGEport later this year, pricing to be determined. More information can be found on SAGEport's Web site, www.sageport.com, or by calling 1-877-889-6770 ext. 100.
