Intel Details E-Business Solution Integration Strategies

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM CONFERENCE, SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 24, 2000 - Intel shared details of its Intel® Solution Center and Intel Developer Services programs in a keynote speech delivered here today by Intel vice president Will Swope. These programs are part of a $100 million effort Intel announced earlier this year to accelerate the integration and deployment of turnkey Intel Architecture-based e-Business solutions in conjunction with Web integrators, equipment manufacturers and software companies.

"Intel is focused on extending its industry relationships to provide integrated, tuned and tested e-Business and e-Home solutions," said Swope, general manager, Intel Solutions Enabling Group. "As the leading building block supplier to the Internet, Intel will provide the necessary products, tools and services to enable these solutions."

Intel Solution Centers will offer hardware, software, lab testing equipment and engineering services that Web integrators can use to validate and deploy comprehensive e-Business solutions in conjunction with leading industry suppliers. Several industry leaders have already signed on to the Solution Center program:

"US Interactive is working with the Intel Solution Center program to create value by providing proven answers to current and emerging e-Business technology problems," said Ajit Prabhu, chief technology officer, US Interactive. "US Interactive, with access to the network of Intel Solution Centers, creates a huge, leverageable knowledge base of technology solutions addressing real problems. It's a great concept!"

"HP's strategic relationship with Intel will combine best of breed technology and expertise to enable e-Business solution providers to address the needs of their customers," said Nigel Ball, vice president and general manager of Hewlett-Packard's E-Services Partner Division. "With a ready-made infrastructure the HP and Intel Solution Center will make it easy to create customer friendly e-Services solutions."

"Through our relationship with Intel, ExpoExchange is able to maintain a leading position in the adoption and application of innovative technology solutions," said Bryan Jackson, vice president of product development, ExpoExchange. "Intel has provided technical guidance, performance and scalability testing and tuning, and introductions to relevant technology allies. Our collaboration will increase our ability to provide first-rate online marketplaces for our tradeshow and association partners, enabling their buyers and sellers to connect before, during and after an event."

The first North American Intel Solution Centers have opened in Santa Clara, Calif.; Chantilly, Va.; and DuPont, Wash. European Centers are planned for Reading, England; Munich, Germany; and Stockholm, Sweden. Asian Centers are planned for China and India.
