Intel Names Vadasz Executive Vice President
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 26, 2000 - Intel Corporation today announced it has promoted Leslie L. Vadasz to executive vice president and president, Intel Capital. Intel Capital is the company's strategic investment program, and focuses on making equity investments to grow the Internet economy worldwide, including Internet infrastructure, content and services. It also oversees Intel's acquisition programs. Vadasz, who has headed Intel's investment program since it was established in 1991, was formerly senior vice president and director, Intel Capital.
Vadasz, 63, joined Intel as part of the initial management team in 1968, the year the company was founded. His first responsibilities included the development of semiconductor memory and microprocessor products. Over the years, Vadasz has served in a number of engineering and general management roles at Intel. He was elected to Intel's board of directors in 1988.
Vadasz graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, in 1961 with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He was born in Budapest, Hungary.
