Intel Expands Distribution Channel for LANDesk Products
Core Corporation to Provide Distribution and Service for LANDesk Products in Japanese Market
TOKYO, Aug. 24, 1999 - Intel Corporation today expanded its distribution channel for products with the announcement of an agreement with Core Corporation, a leading value-added reseller (VAR) in Japan. Core will coordinate the recruitment of Deployment Value-Added Resellers (DVARs) servicing the Japanese market to provide customers with a network of highly trained, regional and national technicians experienced in deployments for Intel LANDesk products. Core will also provide frontline customer service of the Intel LANDesk products.
"We are excited about working with Core on developing our DVAR channel in Japan," said Ed Ekstrom, vice president, Intel's Communications Products Group and general manager, Systems Management Division. "Their outstanding service capabilities and knowledge of our product line make for a winning combination."
DVARs are part of a program from Intel introduced earlier this year to assist customers in evaluating and deploying Intel LANDesk products throughout their environments. To participate in the program, Intel LANDesk products DVARs must pass technical, deployment and promotion capability assessments. Intel LANDesk products DVARs receive comprehensive technical training from Intel to ensure that they are uniquely qualified in the planning, design and implementation of comprehensive Intel LANDesk systems management solutions.
"For enterprises, the management of desktop environments, including software upgrades, troubleshooting and regular maintenance, is a mission critical function," said Ryohei Tanemura, president of Core Corporation. "The Intel LANDesk products are an excellent systems management solution and the DVAR program facilitates easy deployment of the products. Core experts, with expansive technical background, will assist enterprises in reducing TCO and improving productivity."
Achieving high system reliability, availability and serviceability can be a challenge in today's complex IT environments, which typically consist of a mix of new and legacy systems from a variety of hardware and operating system suppliers. Intel LANDesk products DVARs assist customers with the analysis and prioritization of their needs to develop phased deployment plans and define ongoing IT policies and procedures.
