Intel Launches New Channel Program For LANDesk Products

LANDesk Products Deployment VAR Program Will Provide Customers with Superior Technical and Sales Service

AMERICAN FORK, Utah, March 1, 1999 - Intel Corporation today announced the LANDesk Products Deployment VAR program, a new program that will make the complex job of deploying PC management software much easier for LANDesk customers. Dedicated LANDesk products expertise is now available through a network of regional and national VARs with technicians who are highly trained and experienced in the deployment of Intel LANDesk products.

"A successful plan for managing heterogeneous PC environments has to extend well beyond the initial investment in management software," said Robert Kidd, co-director of channels and operations for Intel's System Management Division. "The skills and programs that Intel's new LANDesk Products Deployment VARs offer will help to make sure that customers get maximum value from their LANDesk solutions."

Achieving high system reliability, availability and serviceability can be a challenge in today's complex IT environments, which typically consist of both new and legacy systems from a variety of hardware and operating system suppliers. When developing a plan to manage their PCs, customers often are faced with complex challenges such as selecting and maintaining a database solution, taking inventory of software and hardware from multiple vendors, and integrating with internally-developed applications. Intel LANDesk Products Deployment VARs can help analyze and prioritize their customers' needs to develop phased deployment plans and define ongoing IT policies and procedures.

To participate in the program, Intel LANDesk Products Deployment VARs must pass technical, deployment and promotion capability assessments. Intel LANDesk Products Deployment VARs receive comprehensive technical training from Intel to ensure that they are uniquely qualified in the planning, design and implementation of comprehensive LANDesk systems management solutions. Intel also works with its LANDesk Products Deployment VARs on cooperative marketing programs that may include advertising, direct marketing and customer seminars.

Intel has initially qualified 12 integrators in North America and nine in Europe for participation in the LANDesk Products Deployment VAR program. In North America, these integrators are AlphaNet; Continental Resources, Inc.; Data Net; Network America; Network Dynamics Corporation; Northwest Digital; Peters & Associates; PC Syscom; Specialty Installations; TEKsystems; Terasys, Inc.; and TLD Computers, Inc. In Europe they are ADA GmbH (Germany), Axept AG (Switzerland), Econocom (Belgium), IMS Data (Sweden), ISM GmbH (Germany), NetMan Limited (UK), Osiatis (France/Spain), PC Syscom (Sweden/Denmark/Norway/Finland), and royalblue (UK). Additional LANDesk Product Deployment VARs are being considered in these and other countries.
