Intel® Create & Share Camera Pack Drops Price, Offers New Software CD
Savings up to $100 on New Purchases; Optional Software CD Adds Unique Game, Snapshot Features
CHANDLER, Ariz., April 13, 1998 – Intel Corp. has reduced prices today on its Intel® Create & Share Camera Pack retail product line and introduced a software companion CD that provides fun, new camera games and more convenient snapshot features using the Intel® PC Camera.
The Intel Create & Share Camera Pack is an affordable and easy-to-use PC communications, photo and video editing package designed to work with Intel® Pentium® processor-based PCs. It is offered in three versions. The new manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) on the universal serial bus (USB) version is $179, the PCI version is $229 and the PCI modem version is $329. An additional $30 mail-in rebate is also being offered.
The Intel Create & Share Camera Pack is available at most major retail chains and online providers in the United States, as well as Canada and parts of Europe.

Intel® Create & Share SoftwareTM Companion The software companion to the Intel Create & Share Camera Pack includes two new Intel PC Camera applications. Intel worked with Santa Cruz-based software company Reality Fusion, Inc. to incorporate the capabilities of their FreeAction* Technology, a collection of camera games which literally puts players in the game. The FreeAction Sampler product enables users to interact with objects on the computer screen via their own body movement, to virtually hit, throw, catch or touch objects. Intel also provides consumers with Intel® Snapshot, which captures images that can be used to personalize correspondence, cards and calendars, Web pages, and more.
The Intel Create & Share Software Companion CD is sold separately through online retailers at $19.95 MSRP.
Product Features and System Requirements
The Intel Create & Share Camera Pack enables users to capture, enhance, and morph digital still images; record short videos; create and deliver e-mail postcards; make videos that can be streamed from a personal Web page; and place video phone calls (depending on configuration). An Intel PC Camera sits on top of the PC's monitor and serves as the center of the Intel Create & Share software suite. The suite includes: The Intel® Guided Tour, Intel® Launcher and Intel® Gallery, Intel® Video Phone, Intel® Scene Recorder, PhotoEnhancer*, NetCard* and Kai's Power GOO SE.*
Intel Create & Share Camera Packs are available for Intel Pentium processor-based PCs running at 90 MHz and higher (higher processor speeds provide better results); other system requirements include: Windows* 95; 16 MB RAM; an 800 x 600 display; 16-bit color; 16-bit Sound Blaster*-compatible sound system with microphone and speakers; a 4x CD-ROM drive; approximately 75 MB free hard-disk space; an Internet service provider that supports TCP/IP; and 28.8 Kbps (or faster) modem. Microsoft Internet Explorer* or Netscape Navigator* is also recommended.
