    Description

    Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.2 and earlier, you might see this error when the cascade_out port of an IOPLL FPGA IP is connected to logic other than the refclk port of another IOPLL.

    ATOM *|iopll_0|tennm_pll Type: FALCONMESA_IOPLL (atom id 309) with OTERM type O_PLL_CASCADE_OUT[0] does not lead to top-level port when it wants to reach ITERM type CLK[0]  of ATOM

     

    Resolution

    To work around this problem, do not connect the cascade_out port of an IOPLL Intel® FPGA IP is connected to logic other than the refclk port of another IOPLL.

    This problem scheduled to fixed in a future relase of the Quartus™ Prime Pro Edition Software by providing a clear error message.
