Why does External Memory Interface (EMIF) calibration fail when you recalibrate the EMIF interface on Agilex™ 7 FPGA and Agilex™ 5 FPGA devices without reconfiguring the device?

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
    External Memory Interfaces (EMIF) IP
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to an issue in the Quartus® Prime Pro versions 24.1 and earlier, you may encounter EMIF calibration failure if you recalibrate the interface using the EMIF Debug Toolkit or using the mailbox command on Agilex™ 7 FPGA M-Series and Agilex™ 5 FPGA E-Series devices.

Resolution

To work around this issue, reconfigure the device to recalibrate the EMIF interface.
