Why does Intel® Quartus® report a warning message when using the "initialize memory content" option for an on-chip memory (RAM or ROM) FPGA IP?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.4 and earlier, you may see Intel® Quartus® reports below warning message when using the initialize memory content option for an on-chip memory (RAM or ROM) FPGA IP with a HEX file generated from the elf2hex tool:

Memory contents are already initialized at the specified addresses. Overwriting data.

 

 

 

 

Resolution

The problem has been fixed in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.1.
