Why aren't my RAM initial contents inferred correctly?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.3 and 23.4, you might see that your RAM initial contents are not inferred correctly. 

    This problem occurs with RAMs that are inferred from a mux. These RAMs can be identified by this info message during synthesis.

    Info(24141): RAM is inferred from mux  "RAM Name"  

    RAMs inferred by other coding styles or instantiated from the IP Catalog are not affected.

     

     

    Resolution

    To work around this problem, download and install the patches below for the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.3 and 23.4

    This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
