Why does o_p<n>_tx_ptp_ready fail to assert when PTP is enabled on the F-Tile Ethernet Multirate FPGA IP core?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.2, o_p<n>_tx_ptp_ready will fail to assert when PTP is enabled on the F-Tile Ethernet Multirate FPGA IP core if a 25GE with PTP secondary profile is not defined.

This problem affects both simulation and hardware implementations.

    Resolution

To work around this problem, add a 25GE with a PTP secondary profile to the Dynamic Reconfiguration Group of the F-Tile Ethernet Multirate FPGA IP core, even if unrequired.
This problem has been fixed starting in version 23.3 of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
