Warning: 18059 Ignored Maximum Fan-Out assignment

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Software version 20.1 and earlier, you may see this warning if the "maxfan" assignment is applied to a register that drives an input of an M20K block RAM.

To work around this issue, perform one of the following options:

1. Manually split the RAM into smaller blocks and feed each block with its own copy of the read and write address registers.
2. Set a "dont_merge" attribute on each copy of the read and write address registers

This problem is fixed beginning with the Intel Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Software version 21.1
