Cannot display Chip Planner. Error in creating target chip device.

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.1 and earlier, you may see this message when launching the Chip Planner. This error occurs when you have a migration device added to your project.

Resolution

To workaround this problem, follow the below steps:

1. Remove the migration device  by selecting Assignment>Device>Migration Devices

2. Remove the following setting in your .qsf file.

set_global_assignment -name DEVICE_MIGRATION_LIST
