Why does the Intel Agilex® 7 FPGA I-Series Development Kit schematic diagram shows a QSPI Flash device connected directly to the Intel Agilex 7 FPGA when on board it is connected to the Intel® MAX® 10 FPGA?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Referring to the Intel Agilex® 7 FPGA I-Series Development Kit schematic diagram on page 2, you will see that the EPCQ Flash device is connected directly to the Intel Agilex 7 FPGA. However, when you check on the development kit, the EPCQ flash device is actualy connected to Intel® MAX® 10 FPGA. This can be verified by referring to the same document on page 35.

    Resolution

The EPCQ device is actually connected to the Intel® MAX® 10 FPGA. You can verify this by referring to page 35 of the same document. The block diagram will be fixed in a future release of this document.
