Why doesn’t o_rx_pcs_ready assert on my 400GE-8 w/PTP variant of the F-tile Ethernet Intel® FPGA Hard IP after reconfiguration from 100GE-4 w/PTP variant in the same reconfiguration group, when the 100GE-4 w/PTP variant is set as the startup profile?

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
    Interfaces
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem in Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.4, the 400GE-8 w/PTP variant of the F-tile Ethernet Intel® FPGA Hard IP will fail to function correctly (o_rx_pcs_ready fails to assert) after being dynamically reconfigured from a 100GE-4 w/PTP variant of the F-tile Ethernet Intel® FPGA Hard IP if the 100GE-4 w/PTP variant is chosen as the “startup profile”. Both of the intellectual property (IP) variants exist within the same “Dynamic Reconfiguration Group”.

Resolution

To work around this problem, assign the 400GE-8 w/PTP variant of the F-tile Ethernet Intel® FPGA Hard IP as the “startup profile” and then dynamically reconfigure to the 100GE-4 w/PTP variant of the F-tile Ethernet Intel® FPGA Hard IP.

This problem has been fixed starting in version 23.2 of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
