Is there any known problem with the Secure Device Manager (SDM) firmware in Intel Agilex® 7 FPGAs F-Series and I-Series with the density code of 019 or 023?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.3 and earlier, Intel Agilex® 7 FPGAs F-Series and I-Series with the density code 019 or 023 might not work correctly.

The Secure Device Manager (SDM) interacts with multiple sub-system managers (SSMs) like Local Sector Managers (LSMs).

Those  SSMs have their RAM with the repair fuse.  However, the SDM firmware may incorrectly apply the repair fuse information to the SSMs.  Because the RAM repair is random, it is hard to estimate what failure symptom will be observed.  Intel strongly recommends applying the following resolution to fix this problem.
