Prior to release 22.2, Intel® Quartus® Programmer only supported loading the provisioning firmware over JTAG. A patch (0.28fw) was provided for release 22.2 which enables the Quartus Programmer to load provisioning firmware over the AVSTx8 interface using PFL-II IP.
The fix allows the user to convert the provisioning firmware into an AVST POF file using Intel® Quartus® Programmer. The user will then be able to program the generated POF file into the attached QSPI/CFI flash. Thereafter, the PFL II IP can read the image correctly from the flash and send the data to the SDM.
