Why does Configuration via Protocol (CvP) fail when using Intel Agilex® 7 FPGAs?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to problems found in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software versions 22.3 and earlier, Configuration via Protocol (CvP) of Intel Agilex® 7 FPGAs might fail to load when loading a bit stream from a different version of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.

    Resolution

To work around this problem, resend another bit stream generated from the same Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version as the bit stream running on the device.

You need to power cycle the system if it is unrecoverable by resending another bit stream.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.4.
