Why does SEU fault injection fail after CvP update configuration on all Intel Agilex® devices?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.1 and earlier, performing single event upset (SEU) fault injection might fail after the second CvP update on all Intel Agilex®devices.

When the FPGA is configured with a periphery image and followed by the CvP update, the fault injection works as expected. You might observe fault injection failure if you do a subsequent CvP update.

    Resolution

To work around this problem, you need to power cycle the device. Reconfiguration will not fix the problem.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2.
