Intel® FPGAs may not configure successfully when using the Cypress S25FL-L flash as Active Serial configuration flash memory and when the JIC programming file was generated with Cypress flash selected as the configuration device.
This is because the existing Cypress flash selection (S25FL) in the Convert Programming File or Programming File Generator window in Intel® Quartus® Prime software is based on the Cypress S25FL-S flash. This selection is incompatible with the Cypress S25FL-L flash.
This is also applicable when selecting Cypress in the Programming Flow Template in the Generic Flash Programmer.
To work around this problem:
- Refer to the Intel® Supported Third-Party Configuration Devices to select the appropriately supported flash.
- Refer to Customizable Flash Programmer User Guide for enabling non-supported flash devices.
- Refer to Defining a New Flash Memory Device in Generic Flash Programmer User Guide for more information on how to modify the Cypress template (S25FL-S flash) to enable Cypress S25FL-L flash.
