Should I enter Imax or IDynamic Currents into the PDN Tool?

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

The Intel© FPGA PDN Tool advises you to enter Imax for the current to decouple. In PDN Tool terms, this figure is the maximum dynamic current. When using the PDN Tool for your design, you should enter IDynamic from the Early Power Estimator Tool (EPE) into the Imax field of the PDN Tool.

For additional design margin, you can add 30% to your IDynamic figure.

Imax will be relabelled to IDynamic in a future version for the PDN Tool.
