Why does reconfiguration through a non-JTAG source fail after first programming via JTAG , for my Intel® Stratix® 10 device?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • Config Debug Agent Intel® FPGA IP
  • Configuration and Programming
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    Due to a problem starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro software version 18.0,  if your Intel® Stratix® 10 device is first configured via JTAG, you can't subsequently reconfigure via a non-JTAG source. 

    Resolution

    To work around this problem, power cycle your Intel® Stratix® 10 device if the failure occurs.

    This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future Intel® Quartus® release.
