Due to a problem in the Quartus II software version 12.1, you may see this internal error when running the Quartus® II PowerPlay Power Analyzer for designs that use parallel on chip termination (OCT) settings other than 50 ohm. This problem affects designs targeting Arria® V and Cyclone® V devices.
The power model does not yet include the parallel OCT settings other than 50 ohm. Thus the 20, 25, 30, 40, 60, and 120 ohm parallel OCT settings are not supported in the Power Analyzer or the Early Power Estimator (EPE) version 12.1.
To avoid the internal error when running the Power Analyzer, temporarily set the parallel OCT for the 50 ohm setting. This will allow you to obtain power estimation results for the remainder of your design.
The power model is updated beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.1 SP1 to include all of the supported parallel OCT settings.
