Why do I get warning messages when I try to simulate the Reed-Solomon Design Example, toprs8.mdl, packaged with the DSP Builder, version 1.0?

Environment

  • DSP Builder for Intel® FPGAs Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description When simulating the Reed-Solomon Design Example in Simulink, you will get the following warning messages:

Warning: Unconnected input line found on block 'toprs8/Decoder_numerr' (input port: 1).
Warning: Unconnected output line found on block 'toprs8/eras' (output port: 1).
Warning: Unconnected input line found on block 'toprs8/decfail' (input port: 1).
Warning: Unconnected input line found on block 'toprs8/sync' (input port: 1).
Warning: Input port 4 of block 'toprs8/Reed SolomonB1' is not connected.
Warning: Output port 2 of block 'toprs8/Reed SolomonB1' is not connected.
Warning: Output port 3 of block 'toprs8/Reed SolomonB1' is not connected.
Warning: Output port 4 of block 'toprs8/Reed SolomonB1' is not connected.

You can resolve this problem by reconnecting the inputs and outputs ports to the Reed SolomonB1 block in the toprs8.mdl file.

This problem will be fixed in a future release of the DSP Builder.
