When the Cyclone® V SoC on the Altera Development Kit is reset during QSPI erase or write command execution, subsequent boots from N25Q512 QSPI flash may fail due to unexpected status received from memory in u-boot initialization.
The N25Q512 QSPI device stays in an unexpected state until board is power cycled or QSPI is reset by SW command. The hardware reset of N25Q512 QSPI does not recover memory to expected state required by u-boot driver.
There is no plan to replace Micron's N25Q512 QSPI memory on Cyclone V SoC Altera Development Kit.
The QSPI memory can be recovered by SW reset commands (Reset Enable, Reset Memory).
