Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 11.1 SP2 and earlier, this error may occur when creating the timing netlist in the TimeQuest timing analyzer. This error occurs when the TimeQuest timing analyzer encounters problems reading cached delays from a previous timing analysis run.
To work around this problem, force delay annotation when creating the timing netlist. In the TimeQuest GUI, enter the following Tcl command in the Console prompt:
create_timing_netlist -force_dat
Continue with timing analysis as normal. When performing timing analysis in batch mode, use the --force_dat option when running quartus_sta.
This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.0.
