Description
You may see this error in the Quartus® Prime software version 16.0 Update 2 or earlier when targetting any non-Stratix® 10 device family.
Error (332000): ERROR: Assignment HYPER_RETIMER has multiple values. Use the "get_all_global_assignments" command to get all values or use the "get_global_assignment -front" command to get the first value.
This error occurs when the project contains HYPER_RETIMER assignments but does not target a Stratix 10 device.
Resolution
You can avoid this error by removing any HYPER_RETIMER assignments from the project.
This problem has been resolved in the Quartus Prime software version 16.1
