Description

Yes, after the release of the Quartus® II software version 9.0 the timing models for the M9K and M144K have been updated for the Stratix® III devices. The updates eliminate a rare possibility of the Quartus II software reporting higher performance numbers for the M9K and M144K compared with the actual device performance. This relates to the memory's clock enable path not being modeled in the Quartus II version 9.0 and ealier.

To verify if your design is affected by this update follow these steps:

(*) Create the netlist in TimeQuest Tcl console with the -force_dat option or command line with the --force_dat option. This option is only required with the patched version of the Quartus II version 9.0 and not the Quartus II version 9.0 SP1.

This problem has been fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 9.0 SP1.
