    Critical Issue

    Description

When compiling an HPS design, you might see an error message similar to the following:

    Error (129001): Input port DATAIN on atom \ "hps_qsys:u0|hps_qsys_hps_0:hps_0|hps_qsys_hps_0_hps_io:hps_io| \ hps_qsys_hps_0_hps_io_border:border|hps_sdram:hps_sdram_inst| \ hps_sdram_p0:p0|hps_sdram_p0_acv_hard_memphy:umemphy| \ hps_sdram_p0_acv_hard_io_pads:uio_pads| \ hps_sdram_p0_altdqdqs:dq_ddio[0].ubidir_dq_dqs| \ altdq_dqs2_acv_connect_to_hard_phy_cyclonev:altdq_dqs2_inst| \ extra_output_pad_gen[0].config_1", which is a cyclonev_io_config \ primitive, is not legally connected and/or configured

This error might appear if you add the HPS component to your top-level system by adding the source .qsys file to the Quartus II project.

    Resolution

Use the following standard Qsys system generation flow:

    1. In Qsys, generate the HPS component subsystem.
    2. Add the resulting .qip file to the Quartus II project.
    3. Alternatively, upgrade to v13.1.
