Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 10.0 and later, Logic Analyzer Interface (LAI) pin assignments cannot be created using the Logic Analyzer Interface Editor.
To work around this problem, create the LAI pin assignments in the Pin Planner using the steps below:
- Open the Logic Analyzer Interface Editor and select Pins for the Setup View drop-down menu.
- Open the Pin Planner.
- In the Pin Planner All Pins list, enter new node names for your LAI pins matching the pin names in the Logic Analyzer Interface Editor. The naming convention is
altera_reserved_lai_<LAI instance number>_<pin number within the LAI instance>
. For example, if you have one LAI with two pins, enter two node names,altera_reserved_lai_0_0
andaltera_reserved_lai_0_1
. - In the Reserved column, assign the pins to As output driving unspecified signal.
- Assign pin locations and I/O standards for the LAI pins.
After completing these assignments in the Pin Planner, the Logic Analyzer Interface Editor shows the pin assignments.
This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
