Error (10430): VHDL Primary Unit Declaration error at alt_cusp120_package.vhd(19): primary unit "ALT_CUSP120_PACKAGE" already exists in library "altera"

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description You may this error during Quartus® II compilation when you build a Qsys system using the Video and Image Processing (VIP) component, and also create another VIP component outside the Qsys system within same project, using Megawizard flow.  The issue may appear for certain VIP components like Test Pattern Generator (TPG).
    Resolution

    Move all the VIP components within the same Qsys system.  -- OR --

    If you like to keep a video component in a separate module/entity than the core Qsys design, Qsys hierarchy can be used to achieve this goal. 

    This issue will be fixed in a future software version.
