RapidIO IP Core Might Transmit Unreliable ackID_status Field in Status Control Symbol

Environment

    Critical Issue

    Description

When the RapidIO IP core receives a valid packet with a specific ackID value, the IP core should transmit a packet-accepted control symbol for the packet before sending a status control symbol with an updated ackID value in the ackID_status field. However, the IP currently might incorrectly update the ackid_status field value to the next value and send out the new value to the RapidIO link partner in a status control symbol before transmitting the packet-accepted control symbol for the packet with the original ackID.

    Resolution

This issue has no workaround. You should ensure your design does not rely on the value in the ackID_status field of incoming control symbols.

This issue will be fixed in a future version of the RapidIO IP core.
