How can I use Windows NT or Windows 95 long file names (i.e., longer than eight characters)?

Environment

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description Windows 95 and Windows NT provide support for long file names. You can instruct the MAX PLUS® II software for Windows 95 or Windows NT to use long file names by changing a variable in your maxplus2.ini file. In the System section, add the following line:
USE_WIN95_WINNT_LONG_FILENAMES=ON

The MAX PLUS II software can use long file names by default, even in Windows 3.x. The MAX PLUS II software creates a legal 8-character name, and saves a mapping from the long file name to the 8-character name in a file called maxplus2.idx. MAX PLUS II uses the maxplus2.idx file instead of the USE_WIN95_WINNT_LONG_FILENAMES variable. Windows 95 and Windows NT have built-in long file name support and do not need the maxplus2.idx file.
